The XenaX is a permanent sound installation/instrument that is used by kids in the Klankspeeltuin.
By using special pens the kids (7-12 years) can, instead of draw pictures, 'draw' sounds and lightcolours which come out of the installation. The installation actually consists of four independent units. Each unit can be played by two kids. It is designed and produced together with Marien Hogerheijde and Yvonne Boelens.
The XenaX is currently up and running in the Klankspeeltuin (in english: Soundplayground) which is a venue with different sound installations for kids (See also
KosmiX). The Klankspeeltuin is part of
Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ in Amsterdam.
